The girls track and field team defeated Plainfield and Mooresville as the host school Tuesday night with a final score of 69-31-63. The evening started with a win from the 4x800 relay of Ally Becki, Brooke Dixon, and Gabby Bische. Other top finishers for the night were Angie Neddeau placing first in the 400 followed by Isabella Maihofer in 2nd, Michaela Barrett was first in the 300 hurdles, Mackenzie Barrett placed first in the high jump, and Roni Roberts took first in the shot put. Brooke Dixon ran a personal best time in the 3200 by 27 seconds with a time of 11:08! This puts her with a top 10 time in the state! Emma Cougill had a great race to place second followed by Sydney Montgomery and Faye Jessup. The 4x400 relay of Angie Neddeau, Ally Becki, and Michaela Barrett also placed first. The girls will compete next Tuesday in the County meet. Go Bulldogs!
The boys varsity track team took on Plainfield and Mooresville at home. The boys team was victorious, scoring 86 total points to Plainfield's 64 points and Mooresville's 16 points. In the field events, Pierce Thomas won the long jump with a leap of 22'7.25". Reis Thomas won the shot put, throwing 44'8". The Bulldogs had second place finishes in the shot put (Dane Middlebrook 43'5.5") the discus (Reis Thomas 146'9"), the high jump (Tyray Lackey 5'8"), the long jump (Leigh Nutall 19'1.25"), and the pole vault (Matt Albert 10'). On the track, the Bulldogs won all three of the relays. Bryce Kirtz won the 100 and 200 meter dashes running 11.12 and 22.57. Shai Sumpter-Bey was second in the 100 meter dash running 11.22. Leigh Nutall won the 110 meter hurdles, running 15.4. Alex Freeman was second in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:48.2. Trey Fisher was second in the 400 meter dash running 53.47. Tyrone Griffin won the 300 meter hurdles in 44 seconds. Tyler Nolan won the 3200 meter run in 10:32.9 and Jacob Kodrick was second in a time of 10:34.2. The boys next track meet will be the County Invitational next Tuesday evening at Avon.
